Global collaboration and transactional distance - Development of a TD assessment instrument for the VISIONAIR project.

DOI 10.1109/CogInfoCom.2012.6421989 We present a study in which we developed and validated an online questionnaire for assessing Transactional Distance (TD) perceptions among peer students who participated and collaborated via visualization-based environment as part of the EU VISIONAIR infrastructure project. Reliability and correlation tests have indicated internal structure validity and reliability of the questionnaire. There were differences in TD perception among peers on one hand and TD resulting from interaction with distant researchers, indicating the TD measurement validity.
